THE FISCO STORY

In 1940, during World War II, Leo Fisher founded Fisco in a small cellar in London, producing radio valve pins for the Ministry of Supply. After the war, the company started making drawing pins and upholstery nails and in 1946 the first tape measures were introduced to our range.

In 1958, bigger premises became essential and the factory moved to its present site in South East England, covering 60,000 square feet. From there onwards, our range of tape measures continued to grow with the introduction of long tapes in the early 1970’s. For the last 50 years, we have continued to develop and perfect our range of tape measures, exporting to over 30 countries throughout the world.

In 2008 Fisco was acquired by Hultafors Group, a Swedish company offering a unique portfolio of premium brands that we have had a close relationship with for over two decades. Hultafors is known for its high quality hand tools, which have been used by Scandinavian and European craftsmen since the late 19th century. Being part of a larger organisation has resulted in greater resources and knowledge, which has benefited not only ourselves but also certainly our end-users. Made In Britain logo

Most recently, Fisco have joined the Made in Britain campaign, which is designed to champion UK manufacturing and British made brands through use of a special marque. The Made in Britain marque will allow consumers both in the UK and abroad to identify and choose our British made products.

Fisco is a registered company under the Intertek EN ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 Quality Assurance Scheme.
